Ignite Boulder 14 FAQ

Ignite Boulder 14 is Thursday night! If you didn’t buy a ticket, you’re out of luck – this starship is SOLD OUT. In order to prepare you, here’s a helpful FAQ:

Are there any tickets left?

Nope. We are completely SOLD OUT. None available at the venue, none in our cupboards. Sorry!

I suddenly can’t make it. How can I transfer my ticket to a friend of mine?

No problem. Have them check in under your name.

Will there be food?

Nope, but there are plenty of places nearby to stuff your face before or after.

What time do things really get started?

Doors open at 6pm. The show starts at 7pm. We’re usually done at 9pm or so.

Where does the money go?

Proceeds go to the Boulder Shelter for the Homeless.

I didn’t buy a ticket, but I’m really important. Gimme a ticket.

No.

Unbelievable. Can I at least stream it?

Of course. We’ll be streaming at http://igniteboulder.com/live.

I’m not 21 years old. Can I come?

No. Unless you’re accompanied by your legal guardian. This event is 21+.

Do I need to bring a paper ticket?

No. Just bring an ID.

Is there a band?

Yes. Live music will be provided during intermission by Pick Up Sticks Marimba. They’ll also be presenting beforehand – to give you a better sense of what they do.

How should I dress?

Normally. We played dress-up at our last event, but that’s not the case this time. Be comfy.

What’s the hashtag?

Please use #igniteboulder. Let the internets know exactly how Boulder throws down. But we’ll also be doing a contest involving a particular hashtag, so keep your eyes peeled for that.

Am I allowed to heckle?

We’ve discovered that most people aren’t very good at heckling. Why don’t you listen instead?

Is there an afterparty?

We’ll announce the location at the end of the night. Be sure to stick around!

I want more information!

Will there be food?

No. Eat beforehand or lasso some friends into getting dinner afterward.

What time do things really get started?

Doors open at 6pm. We will start at 7pm. We’ll be done at 9pm or so.

What’s this I hear about a Hummer?

Some local firefighters will be bringing their Hummer for photo ops. It’s going to be pretty sweet. It’ll be outside and so will photographer Peggy Dyer (between 6-7pm), so have fun.

Yes. Yelp, KGNU and Boulder B-cycle will be on hand to tell you what they’re up to locally.

Will Andrew Hyde be there?

Our boy Hyde is in Thailand, but he sent us a rose-scented love letter that really got our motor runnin’.

Is there a band?

Turntable monsters Amateur Ape will be performing at intermission. They’ll also be presenting in order to explain what they do.

Are people really dressing up?

Yes. It’s optional, of course – you can come dressed however you like. But Ignite tends to draw in creative, outlandish persons and personalities. So most of us will look incredible and worth courting.

What’s the hashtag?

Please use #igniteboulder. Let the internets know exactly how Boulder throws down. See you there!

One Million Faces

Peggy Dyer is on a mission to photograph one million faces – and she’s bringing her camera to Ignite Boulder 13.

The One Million Faces project, started in 2009, is not a race to set a record. Instead, Dyer aims to paint a portrait of America using her camera, documenting the beautiful faces that surround us.

“I want to inspire a sense of connection and community,” she said. “And spread hope, love and peace all along the way.”

She’ll be at the front of the Boulder Theater to share the pre-event excitement, as well as inside during the action. If you’re lucky, your face may join the thousands of others she’s captured on her march to a million.
